Promise Arizona in Action, propelled by young, inspiring volunteers, is actively working to defeat Pearce, President of the Arizona State Senate, in an historic recall election that takes place on Tuesday, November 8th.
You remember Russell Pearce. He is the guy who achieved national fame when he introduced Senate Bill 1070, the anti-immigrant bill that became the model for racist state legislation that swept the nation, including most recently Alabama.
Recalling him from office, and displacing him as Senate President, isnât a pipe dream. Over 10,000 people in his district (Legislative District 18 in Mesa) have had enough of Pearceâs “leadership” and signed a petition distributed by Citizens for a Better Arizona to recall him.
We need your help to ensure his defeat on November 8th and send a message that politicians who promote hatred, hurt our economy to benefit those who don’t need it, and try to strip away our education system will no longer be tolerated!
Arizonans are fed up with Pearce’s extremism and his dirty tricks (there are allegations that Pearce and his Tea Party backers were behind the bogus candidacy of Olivia Cortes, a stalking horse for Pearce before she left the race).
The Arizona Republic recently backed Pearce’s opponent, Jerry Lewis, and Republicans are already lining up support for the next Senate President should Pearce lose.
This is a tough race, and Promise Arizona in Action needs your help. Mesa and Arizona are ready for a change.
