Tell Arizona's Maricopa County Recorder to correct her false statements and support new voters

Screen_shot_2012-10-18_at_9.20.28_PM.pngThe Maricopa County Recorder’s Office recently made a mistake misinforming Spanish-speaking voters about the date of the General Election this year.

And it doesn’t stop there. County Recorder Helen Purcell appeared on CBS Channel 5 in Phoenix yesterday falsely stating it’s a felony to possess someone else's ballot, challenging the legality of having our volunteers deliver ballots to the Recorder’s Office. It is 100% lawful for someone to deliver your ballot.

We can’t afford “mistakes” this election. Tell the Maricopa County Recorder to correct her false statements and support new voters.

Dear County Recorder Helen Purcell,

The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office recently made a mistake misinforming Spanish-speaking voters about the date of the General Election this year.

In addition, you appeared on CBS Channel 5 on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 falsely stating that it is a felony to possess someone else's ballot.

These mistakes are unacceptable. I ask that you retract the false statements you've made, and ensure that your office does everything in its power to encourage full partipation in the General Election on November 6th, 2012.

Sincerely,
